These days I've been trying to remember how lucky I am. Anyone who knows me knows I tend to focus on the negative, the things that could be better (thanks mama!) but as I settle in out here, I've been trying to focus more on what is going right. The fact is, there are two ways to look at everything in life....
This weekend I had to work on Saturday morning -- you know what's great about that? No traffic! Free Bagels! Free Parking at the Santa Monica Promenade.
After work I went to the beach to watch some friends play beach volleyball. You know what's cool about that? I walked to the beach! I have neat friends out here! And I got up the courage to probably play next week, but only if SMS comes to and we can play on opposite teams (because I love playing meaningless games against him for some reason!).
I am a very lucky girl.
Your Saturday work experience was more pleasant than mine. Had to pay for parking since my normal lot is not open, no air or air conditioning in the office, and we were out of milk in the office so I had none for my coffee. :)
ReplyDeleteBlech. I despise volleyball. I must have super sensitive forearms or something- everytime I hit the ball it kills! Argh- now I am having horrific flashbacks to volleyball in the mini gym and Miss Crum yelling at me because I didn't want to bump the ball and kept missing on purpose. :)
ReplyDeletei told them i would play with them if we could play newcomb and they didn't even know what it was! damn LA natives! i'm going to try this weekend, we'll see how it goes. :)
