So I brought Henry home and he looks pretty good to me (this photo is a few weeks old)! I know looks can be deceiving and the vets seem considerably concerned, but for now, I'm just thrilled to have him home! Basically he is "stable in heart failure" which means that the X-rays say he is in heart failure but he is not showing any outward signs of it. I am hoping that this is actually Henry's "norm." Henry is just a cat with a really big heart (which we knew all along!) and that while he may not live to be 18 I hope this isn't as dire as they think it is.
Obviously we'll take it day-to-day, hope for the best and pay close attention to his breathing and behavior. Thanks for all your emails and calls!
Am relieved to know that Henry is back home with you. He is so very special and lucky to have such wonderful parents.
ReplyDeleteThanks! We are glad to have him home though I am looking forward to the night when we can sleep soundly and not wake up every hour to make sure he's breathing. He really seems no different than he did before all this started so I am cautiously hoping for the best. Thanks for your all support and wisdom.

ReplyDeleteI'm thinking good thoughts and hoping for the best. Reading your blog entry almost left me in tears... But no matter what happens, Henry is lucky to have such loving and caring owners who will ensure that he endures minimal suffering and tons of loving and cuddling!
